But now there’s some good news for the series, because Hyundai has announced that it’s planning to re-enter the WRC next year.
Its challenger, based on the i20, has been unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. Although few technical details have been released, it features all-wheel drive, a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine and various aerodynamic aids, all as per the current WRC regulations.
Hyundai last competed in the WRC in 2003, and so for this latest effort a new European-based full works team is being established.
