The alterations might be difficult to spot from the outside though, as the styling appears to be virtually unchanged. But it’s a different story on the inside, where the cabin has been completely revamped and now incorporates the VF Commodore’s updated dashboard.
Specification on the base-level Caprice includes auto park assist, blind spot alert, leather upholstery, satellite navigation, parking sensors, a rear-view parking camera and an 8” colour touchscreen that controls the MyLink infotainment system.
Powered by a 3.6 litre LPG V6 engine its price in Australia is $54,490, a reduction of $10,000 compared to the current model.
Alternatively, the better-equipped Caprice V features Bose audio and rear-seat DVD entertainment systems. Additionally fitted as standard are 19” alloy wheels, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, an electric sunroof and a head-up display.
The Caprice V comes with a 6.0 litre V8 engine and costs $59,990, an amount that’s also $10,000 cheaper than before.
